Two Ways to Contact UPOU Techsupport

Helpdesk

The Helpdesk: http://helpdesk.upou.net is the best way you can reach Techsupport staff:

    • Your request is logged (with date and time) and won't get lost.
    • Our responses will not be blocked, which often happens with free online email services (notably Yahoo! and Hotmail) which try to block mass mailers and inadvertently block us, too, since we send high volumes of emails.
    • You will know as soon as our staff have read your request (via email update or your Helpdesk account).
    • Our responses will always be available to you online. These are recorded in your Helpdesk account, in case you want to read them again.
    • There are more persons answering Helpdesk inquiries (currently, three).
    • The Helpdesk is not affected by downed or busy telephone lines.

You can help us attend to your requests faster by always stating your full name, student number, email and courses this semester. Otherwise, we need to run whatever information we can glean from your message (like your Helpdesk email address, or a number that looks like a student number) through the Registrar's database in order to verify your request. This slows down the process, and in some cases, we cannot confirm your identity.

However, password requests should not be sent through SMS since we have no way of verfying your identity through a cell phone number.
